Course Description
Certificate II in Hairdressing WRH20109 at Clip Joint Education is an entry-level program for the hairdressing industry. Students work in a salon environment and learn skills that will help them integrate into the industry. These days there is a constant demand for well-trained hairdressers and Certificate II in Hairdressing WRH20109 is a great pathway to a Certificate III in Hairdressing Apprenticeship.
In addition to the nationally recognised Certificate II in Hairdressing WRH20109 successful students will also graduate with an internationally recognised business certificate from Nuts & Bolts Business Training Programs (in conjunction with Sassoon Academy | School Connection). Acquiring both certificates gives graduates the best opportunity for a successful career nationally and internationally.

What is offered?
Certificate II in Hairdressing WRH20109 is a qualification that teaches the skills needed to become a 'Hairdressing Salon Assistant'. The focus of the training is to learn valuable skills for working and assisting qualified hairdressers in a salon environment. Assessment is competency based.
Class sizes are kept small for best supportive training. Students work in a salon-style environment to learn how to become proficient as a Salon Assistant. Listed below are just some of the skills that students will learn:
- Head, shoulder and scalp massage
- Shampoo hair like the professionals
- Blow-dry long hair
- Set and blowdry short hair
- Creative styling
- Braiding and creative long hair up-styling
- Basic colour application and removal
- Work in real salon environment.
Study outcomes
On successful completion of your studies you will receive the nationally recognised Certificate II in Hairdressing WRH20109, issued by Clip Joint Education. This qualifies you as a Salon Assistant and is a pathway into a 4 year Hairdressing Apprenticeship.
Graduates will also receive an international business certificate from Nuts & Bolts in Five Star Customer Service, Building a Business and Clientele, Marketing Yourself and Successful Retailing.
If a student studying Certificate II in Hairdressing transitions into Certificate III in Hairdressing, some of the units of competency can be used as credit transfer, therefore reducing study load.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements are in place to make sure that students who gain entry to Clip Joint Education courses have the skills and abilities they require in order to successfully complete their studies. The following are required for all Clip Joint Educaiton courses;
- Good eye and hand coordination, colour awareness and manual dexterity
- A creative instinct is an asset
- Agreement to the policies and procedures as set out by Clip Joint Education
- Demonstrate a passion for hairdressing
- People looking to explore a career in hairdressing, newcomers to the industry who want salon experience, as well as those seeking a pathway to access a Hairdressing Apprenticeship.
Access to vocational courses is open to all students who have successfully attained the pre-requisite English language level as determined by Clip Joint by Clip Joint Education and met any pre-requisite and entry requirements as stated for each course.
Courses will be offered if enrolment numbers are viable and human and physical resources are available.
